Just Keep Swimming! (An Encouraging Word To Hold On To!)

Today, I am extremely excited because this is the first time that I am co writing a post with my fiance'. The original post all together was a post that she originally wrote for her class, however, with the guiding of the Holy Spirit I tailored it to be more relevant to you.( Side note: It is amazing how God would see fit to compliment you with the things & people you need when you need them. She is truly an asset to my life & I am grateful to our Heavenly Father that He would allow for me to experience His BEST!)

Okay, back to the inspiration...
"Just keep swimming..."

Today,  I sat thinking about what to post, I was reminded of a scene in the movie Finding Nemo.  Marlin, Nemo's father, is on a desperate search for his son and had just lost the last piece of evidence that had the potential to help him find Nemo. He was discouraged to say the least. It was at that point in time that "Dory", his special friend there to help him on his search, made a tremendously powerful statement...well, at least for a fish.

"When life gets you down, you know what you gotta do? ...just keep swimming."

I thought about the changes & challenges that we all face in our lives. Especially within the past few weeks. For many of you, it is your first time experiencing what you are going through! Whether it's a job, a relationship, trials, dealing with success, dealing with failure, or even having a baby, it is your first dealing with this particular season in your life. Now it is during this particular season in your life where frustration may try to rear its ugly head, eroding confidence. It is especially important to remind yourself to "just keep swimming."

It is a challenge we all face in our daily lives. Fighting whether we are good enough or if we will be accepted. How wonderful it is that even in your frustration God is at peace and is encouraging us to move forward regardless of the challenges. It is okay to remind yourself of what God has already done on your behalf, because it is those past victories that will encourage you, in this season, to "just keep swimming"!

God is so faithful to encourage us through His Word,

"And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." Galatians 6:9

So, the next time you find yourself having had a challenging day, just remind yourself to "just keep swimming."

In What Are You Choosing To Believe?

What You Believe Determines What You Overcome.-Mike Murdock

You ever wonder why so many people never see God move in their lives or why they always experience more failure than they do success? Well, beside their being a spiritual root cause, it is because most people believe more in the possibilities of things going wrong than they do in things going right.

Have you ever been called into your bosses office and immediately thought, " Oh boy! This can't be good"! When in reality they called you in to compliment you on a job well done or to give you a promotion. Okay, need another example, okay I have one. Men,  and women, how about when your husband, or significant other says, " Baby, we need to talk". What do you immediately think? Do you think, Okay cool?" Or Do you think, sigh...here we go again, what did I do this time?"

The majority of people would pick the latter. Why is that. Why is that as believers we automatically gravitate towards the negative thoughts or emotions?  If you are sick and you are believing more in the sickness than you do in being healed from the sickness then guess what, you are likely to NEVER be healed! Likewise men & woman who always say that there are no good men or woman out there! I am good by myself. Guess what? Most likely you will NEVER find a mate and always be by yourself because you believe more in the negative than you do in the positive.

God's word even says, in Genesis 2:18, "It is not good that the man should be alone;I will make him a help meet for him"See that is the problem right there! We either don't know or don't believe God's word! It is not God's will for you to be sick! It is not God's will for you to be lonely! And it is definitely, men, not God's will for you to be unemployed and not work! In His original plan, He never intended for the female to give to the man. The female was given to the man to provide assistant, encouragement, & fulfillment!
The very way that we were created should show that it was God's original plan for man to give to a woman.  She is a help meet. Still can't see it. Okay, I, when I was created was given the ability to carry sperm (seed), but it will not be until God creates a help meet for me that I can give her my seed and she receives it and helps me to be fruitful and multiply! One MAN, One WOMAN! Not two women! Not Men! Not even One man & multiple women or on woman and multiple men. ONE WOMAN, ONE MAN!

It is also not God's will for you to be in debt! The bible says in  Romans 13:8, "Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. We really have to renew our minds so that we can start living how God intended for us to live. What does Hollywood, B.E.T., Your favorite  actor/actress, & your sports team all have in common? They are all temporary! The are consistently changing and fading away and yet people have more faith in them than they do in the one thing that never changes. The one person that is the same Yesterday, Today, & Forever more!  The One & Only True & Living God!

So I ask you, what are you, from this point on, going to choose to believe? It could be the deciding factor in whether you become free or remain in bondage!

Refuse To Worry!

Good Afternoon,
Today I want to share with you a message that was sent to me over 4 years ago. I find it to be so relevant for today. Enjoy & BE BLESSED!

Refuse to Worry

Today's Scripture
"Who of you by worrying can add a single minute to his life" (Matthew 6:27).

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
God doesn't want you to live worried and anxious about anything. He knows that worry is counterproductive. It steals your peace and joy and affects every area of your life, even your sleep! Have you heard the saying, "Don't worry yourself sick?" Yes, worrying will actually make you physically ill. You won't ever gain anything by worrying, in fact it causes you to lose precious moments that you can never live again. The good news is, God has promised to bring you victory over worry. When you make the choice to put an end to worry, God will give you His peace.

Decide today to put an end to worry in your life. Don't feed worry by focusing on bad news all the time. Sure, we should be informed, but we should be most informed of the truth of the Word of God. Choose today to feed your faith and fill your heart and mind with God's promises. Declare everyday, "My God shall supply all my needs. He makes a way out of no way. He is a Restorer and Redeemer." As you focus on God's Word, you'll drive out worry and fill your heart with faith and expectancy. You'll be filled with hope and joy and move forward into the blessings God has in store for you.

A Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, today I choose to put an end to worry in my life. I choose to feed my faith by studying in Your promises and declare your Word over my life. Help me to totally trust in You today and always. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

September 5, 2012 "Quote of the Day"

I find it fascinating that most people plan their vacations with better care than they plan their lives. Perhaps that is because escape is easier than change.

September 3, 2012 "Quote of the Day"

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow. -Melody Beattie

Scripture For Today!

Isaiah 43:18-19 (KJV)

18Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. 19Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Isaiah 43:18-19(AMP)

18Do not [earnestly] remember the former things; neither consider the things of old.   19Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
